What is DSL?
"What is DSL?" is a question I hear from time to time, so let's touch on that first. Digital subscriber line (DSL) is a type of high speed internet / broadband with service provided by a telephone company.
Cable, 3G, satellite, and Wi-Fi internet, and broadband over powerline ( BPL) are high speed internet / broadband just as DSL, but none of them are actually DSL. Only when high speed internet comes from a phone company is it classified as DSL.
One other type of internet service also comes from a phone company, and that is dial up internet. Dial up is most definitely not high speed / broadband, as it is considerably slower than any DSL service you could have.
Do you need DSL?
Finding dsl might be on your priority list if you:

- Recently moved to a new area
